We’re Natasha and Mary Ann — mother-in-law and daughter duo. Both wife, mama, and co-founders of Cattle Creek Mercantile. We started raising cattle on a small farm in Ohio, never imagining skincare would be part of our story.

• 2016 — Started Raising Our Own Beef

We began raising cattle to feed our family with clean, homegrown beef—and shared what we had with friends and neighbors.

• 2021 — We Bought the Farm

We moved to 70 acres in Ray, Ohio, to raise more cattle.

• 2021 — Discovered Tallow

The couple who sold us the farm asked if they could have some of our tallow. We didn’t even know what that was—until they told us about making soap and balm from what was considered waste. Product: kidney fat.

• 2021 — Helped Our Son’s Eczema Naturally

After trying everything else, our tallow butter was the only thing that didn’t sting his skin—and finally helped it heal.

• 2021 — Our First Jar of Body Butter

We gave it a shot—made a batch of tallow body butter in our kitchen.

• 2021 — Posted on Facebook

We posted about it in a Facebook homesteading group just to share our discovery. But someone immediately asked to buy two jars.

• 2021 — Craft Shows / Etsy

We said yes, shipped our first order, and decided to join a local craft show. We opened an Etsy shop.

• 2024 — Expanding to TikTok Shop

As demand kept growing, we made the leap to TikTok Shop—and everything exploded. Videos went viral, and Cattle Creek grew in ways we never imagined.
